Political connections can expose you to integrity risks

During an IntegraCheck® | Integrity Due Diligence background check on a company in rural China, we found that the chairman of the target company holds an active high profile role at a public hospital in the same province.

Case Manager, Kevin Shen explained to the Client that Politically Exposed Persons generally present a higher risk for potential involvement in bribery and corruption by virtue of their position and the influence that they may hold to obtain business advantages in China.

Kevin further explained to the Client the regulations and restrictions on government officials in China, which meant that any business relationships with the Company was going to have major risks, including potential financial, reputational and political issues.
